On Saturday me, Meg and Hannah went to London for a march/rally/protest thing. It had been organised by the London Feminist Network and we were so excited. It was mine and Meg's first march (as Han did the march last year).
We walked the roads of London, from Trafalgar Sqaure to Kings Cross Station, shouting and chanting, spreading awareness of violence against women. It took about 2 and a half hours to do the march, the pain at the end was sickening, but so worth it. So many people stood on the pavement watching, people were leaning from windows and filming and taking pictures. So many people took part in the march, it was such an awesome experience. There were police escorts, drummers, huge banners, it was just amazing. A few of the chants we said were;
"Whatever we wear, wherever we go. Yes means yes and no means no" (This one was quite the favourite)
"Women united, will never be defeated" (I didn't like this one and neither did Meg, cos it didn't rhyme)
This is me and Han at the march, it was raining the whole time. WE ARE DEDICATED!!!
Today I handed in my third and final essay. I can't explain how happy I was. The relief was AMAZING. I am finally free, and it is good. I'm so tired now though, as I've finally been about to switch off it's just made me so sleepy. Tomorrow I finally get to start the beginning of my Warwick Volunteers journey, I shall be finding out my group and what school I'll be going to. Hurrah :)
