Christmas Blog!!! :D

Yay, festive season!!!! I'm writing this as Christmas Day ends, as I'm so full of chocolate and general food stuffs that I only have the capacity to click, type and change the channel. These are the only three things I do anyway, so not to worry :D

The past week has been rather busy. A few things have been annoying; like snow...and my impetigo coming and going like the wireless signal in Forfield Place. It's generally been a good week though :D I've seen Jack a lot, as we'll be going back to the poverty long distance thing pretty soon, sad times. The snow was annoying, because it was literally just solid ice everywhere after like half an hour. I had to walk like a retard in my wellies...which split...and now have insulation tape on the inside. Urgh, I'm so cool. They did have insulation tape on the outside too, and people were proper staring at my feet and I was getting slightly too embarrassed by all the staring so decided to take the tape off :(

Today I cooked Christmas dinner. I know, me...cooking...a REALLY important dinner. I'm mental, I know. Three hours of cooking and when I sat down to eat my dinner I was so very very very sick at the sight of food, I just looked at it...ate some...and then looked at it more and decided I was full. I then filled up on chocolate whilst watching Michael McIntyre's 'Hello Wembley' DVD, it's hilarious :D. I bought it for my Dad's present, as he LOVES him, which is weird, as he usually hates stand up comedians. Successful purchase though :D THANK GOD.

I throughly enjoyed this Christmas though. It was weird not having Han with us (she was at Mum's). That's why I volunteered to make the dinner, as I would be bored without the general sibling abuse. It's been a good day though. Really busy. I'm super happy with my presents. I got through all my presents and was shocked at the lack of new PJs and socks...then I found my last couple of presents...which were PJs and socks. They never ever fail me as parents :D

Tomorrow is Boxing Day. Packing for Milton Keynes shall commence...and I'll probably keep applying that new bright red lipgloss cos it's AMAZING.

Haaaa, Jack and I were discussing how we got together and he said;
Jack: Not as though it was a job vacany like
Me: My interview would have been AMAZING
Jack: I can imagine, you're plotting it out word for word in your head right now :P
THIS IS VERY VERY TRUE. I'm just wondering what questions I would ask....urgh, it's like a cheesy Saturday night gameshow.

I less than 3 you all (<3)

Well hello :)

Okay, so those that live with me will know my (parents) house has been for sale for a  few months. Well...last week it sold, yay!!  Next time I come back from uni for the Easter holidays I will be going home to a different post code :). I shall be living in Bispham and the sea is at the end of my road :) Lovely.

There are a few things I will miss about this house though. My parents moved to this street when I was 4 years old, and even though I moved away from it when I was 8, my Dad kept a house on the street (next door but one to the house we originally stayed in) which I obviously visited a lot, and eventually moved in to. It's right near my high school, near parks I used to hang out in, near places that contain so many memories. It'll be weird to not live in this area. It's all I'm used to. I'll miss South Shore :( (I can't believe I'm actually writing that :|). On a brighter note, Nikki quite rightly pointed out that I am now an 8 minute drive from her house according to the AA route planner. Which can only be good news. Oh and that boy Jack is a lot nearer too. He shall have to bike to my house (in all weather), cos he's nice :) Speaking of Jack, it's 5 months today, waahhooo :)

Right, the other news besides moving house. I have impetigo. Gross I know. Basicallllllyy, I got home from uni, felt tired and ill, woke up and was all rashy. Thought it was an allergic reaction to the dog, it wasn't. Looked online at pictures of skin rashes (don't do it, it's DISGUSTING) and figured I had impetigo. Went to the doctors and he was like "Do you know anything about Herpes?" I was like "I know I don't have it :|". He kind of gave me a look and carried on clicking at his computer. Damn him. He finally decided I had impetigo (I rule at self diagnosis). Thhheeennn, the cheeky begger in the pharmacy was actually shouting at me "If you're on the pill it WILL be ineffective for 6 weeks when you take these antibiotics!!!" I said I knew and she wouldn't give me the bag and said a few more times "rememeber, it won't be effective! You need to take other precautions!". All I could think of was, 'have you seen my face, no one, ever, anywhere is going to want to have sex with me. I look like I've been attacked. Let me go home before it gets to a reasonable hour of the day and people are outside. I just want to watch Jeremy Kyle and wallow in my misery of face.' Grrr to you pharmacy lady, grrr.

Anyway, enough of my disgusting illness.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all :)

Feminism and Freedom :)

Reclaim the Night 2009
On Saturday me, Meg and Hannah went to London for a march/rally/protest thing. It had been organised by the London Feminist Network and we were so excited. It was mine and Meg's first march (as Han did the march last year).
We walked the roads of London, from Trafalgar Sqaure to Kings Cross Station, shouting and chanting, spreading awareness of violence against women. It took about 2 and a half hours to do the march, the pain at the end was sickening, but so worth it. So many people stood on the pavement watching, people were leaning from windows and filming and taking pictures. So many people took part in the march, it was such an awesome experience. There were police escorts, drummers, huge banners, it was just amazing. A few of the chants we said were;

"Whatever we wear, wherever we go. Yes means yes and no means no" (This one was quite the favourite)

"Women united, will never be defeated" (I didn't like this one and neither did Meg, cos it didn't rhyme)

This is me and Han at the march, it was raining the whole time. WE ARE DEDICATED!!!

Today I handed in my third and final essay. I can't explain how happy I was. The relief was AMAZING. I am finally free, and it is good. I'm so tired now though, as I've finally been about to switch off it's just made me so sleepy. Tomorrow I finally get to start the beginning of my Warwick Volunteers journey, I shall be finding out my group and what school I'll be going to. Hurrah :)

Alice in Wonderland, Flu, Essays and Stolen Bikes.

Ooooh, bad mate to myself. I feel like I haven't blogged in ages. Nick Griffin on Question Time was amazing, and if you haven't already seen it, check out the Cassette Boy thing on YouTube :) It's awesome.

Okay, so it was Hannah's birthday on Tuesday and we went out the Friday before to Kasbah dressed as people from Alice in Wonderland. It was amazing. Here are a few pictures :) (taken by the wonderful Meg Briody)
The Queen of Hearts up to her old tricks <3
I think this was a triumph for James.
Queen of Hearts <3
Because a student party isn't a student party without tea :)
Fabulous night :)

I had flu all of last week, thought I was better on Friday night, went out, woke up Saturday and felt like DEATH. It was so very very uncool. Then, because my life is a joke, I lost my hearing in my right ear and I only got it back yesterday. WHAT IS THIS LIFE?!?!?! I'm glad to be fully hearing person again.
And now I am better I am horrifically behind on my university life. I am obviously so bothered by this, as I'm currently writing a blog then I plan to make rice pudding, eat rice pudding and then probably potter for a bit. Then maybe do some work. Hm. Maybe. I have 3 essays to do, 2000 words each, and a week and a half in which to do them. I'm sure it'll be fine. I have one essay plan, I'll do the other one after rice pudding, and then I'll feel that little bit better about my degree...maybe.
This week our neighbours had their two new bikes stolen. Also, my dad left the garden gate unlocked AND the shed unlocked and now his bike has been stolen. Bike stealing epidemic just in time for Christmas. Obviously this is the case. My rents went on holiday this morning too, what a good start to their trip. Urgh.
Anyway, rice pudding beckons, and I'll like to get at least a little work done before Jack gets here, although that probably won't be for hours yet, so I sort of have ages to do work. Urgh.

Yaaayy I have internet!! I shall post a more update blog soon...when I get back into the swing of my life.

Okay, so I still don’t have the internet. I should have it by tomorrow...that’s what O2 say anyway. We’ll see. I’ve just been to uni for an introduction meeting, hurrah for being back at Warwick. Jack came to the meeting with me; he’s such an odd fellow. He left for the north today, he’s been here since Friday, it’s been lovely :)

We all went for a meal as a house (plus a few extras) last night. Pizza Express, yuuss! It was so yum! Dough balls are actually beautiful. Marc was given a shot of sambuca and actually died. He’s the biggest lightweight ever, it’s quite cute. Although not very cute when he starts to talk about grim things no one wishes to hear. Ew. I just noticed a red wiggly line underneath “sambuca”; is it not a real word? Microsoft Word you a confusing devil.

Tomorrow I have approximately 1000000 emails to write to various people. I need (in no particular order); work experience, a job, my CV looking at, a new personal tutor, to join a society that isn’t a doss, and just to generally sort my life out. Internet would help ALL these issues. Gah. Damn you life. Also, whilst on the topic of damning, I got my loan through today. I am damning it because once my accommodation costs have gone out I am left with nothing, I go straight back to zero. Then I have to pay Mark and Meg for various things like bills and then £245 for my bus pass. It’s just not right and it’s quite upsetting. I’m officially going NO WHERE this month as I am far far FAR too poor.

On a lighter note though, this does mean I’ll drink less and eat less. And that can only be good, right? I want Han to get back from uni so I can unleash all these shocking troubles on her face. In the meantime I’m going to entertain myself with Cosmo and checking various things on my phone... I just logged onto twitter and saw an absolute beaut of a status from the guy who does “The Wright Stuff”, it says “Your views on some bookshops’ plan not to sell Jordan’s fourth autobiography in five years. Are they right to stop us buying what we want?” I laughed rather a lot at that. It’s quite funny. Why does she have so much to say? And why do people want to read it? She’s just so boring.

I just want it to be Friday so I can go to Kasbah with my favourite people and dance and laugh the night away <3.

*does overdramatic sigh*

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
As if summer is over and I'm going back to uni in a whole week. This time next week I'll be in my huge room (with it's echo, lol), probably drinking tea and nagging Hannah. This excites me so much. I've been so nervous about going back to uni. There are many reasons for this, and I know they're silly and stupid and make no sense, but I get like this when I have to go back places. I had it every year before going back to school, I swear everyone must get "going back" nerves? Surely? Or am I really that odd? I am excited to go back, but I'm still nervous, I think it's a healthy amount of nerves though, which I'm fine with :)

This summer has been truly amazing, so many things have happened! Nights out galore in July, trips to Edinburgh, Durham, Leamington and Portugal. It's been crazy and I'm so grateful for every second. I know I'm so lucky to have done so much and had such a lovely summer. It's been so fun and I have like a million good memories (and pictures) to last me a while :)

I realised this summer who my friends really were. People are always saying stuff like that, but I did...srsly. The ones I know I care about are the ones
- I miss when I haven't heard from them in a week,
- I spend silly amounts of time with
- There's never a dull moment :)
My friendship with Kaylz definitely blossomed this summer. We've both already discussed this and how odd it is! We've known each other for a small while now, we used to work together at Wilkinson (back in the day). Since then it's just been many hours of drinking tea, handing out leaflets (don't ask) and chatting about everything. What a gem.

All my friends know how important they are to me, and I'm so grateful. July was a rotten month in a few ways for me, but my lovely friends were there for me every second, whether they lived round the corner or the other side of the country. This past week of nerves and total apprehension made me think about all the lovelies that I know and how much I need them all.
EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM.

This week is my last week in Blackpool before Leamington becomes my pretty much permanent place of residence. I have a few people I need to see, literally a few, as everyone else has already gone back! Mental. I'm seeing Jack tomorrow as he's finally out of hospital! This pleases me lots :). I'm seeing the joyous Han Rampley on Tuesday for a day of creativity and general chit-chat. I'm going to miss both these people more than they'll actually realise.

(Wow this blog is soppy)

I'm excited to be reunited with my Musketeers. They have no idea how much I've missed them. There is NO WAY I am ever ever ever ever ever going 3 months without seeing them again. It's just never happening again. I actually love them too much to ever do that again. I re-read the blog I did "remembering first year" in July and jeeeez did that bring some tears. I miss that uni lot and I'm so excited to see all their southern faces again. The bastards.

Okay, this blog has been far to soppy so now I'll even it out with a brutal comment.
OH MY GOD, WHY IS KATIE PRICE EVERYWHERE, GET OFF MY TELE AND LEAVE ME ALONE. I DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE REAL KATIE PRICE, SHE IS REAAALLLLLLLY ORANGE AND I DON'T LIKE IT, IT SCARES MY PALE BEING. PISS OFF AND LEAVE ME TO MY PG TIPS AND EPISODES OF DRAGON'S DEN.

Ooooh and new cycle of America's Next Top Model. Time for fierce eyes and strong arms is every picture taken of us all for the next 3 months. OH YES. Hello Tyra Banks, you fit fit specimen (even if all your hair is fake...)

LOTS OF LOVE TO EVERY PERSON WHO EVER READS THIS

Here are a few things that have made me stupidly angry the past few days.

Stupid people.

However, all is not lost!!!!! Because charlieissocoollike did the Hoedown Throwdown on youtube. That made me incredibly happy after a week of nut jobs.
